FAQs
What happens if my shooter gets sick?
We have backup shooters on call for every wedding in case of sickness. That said, emergencies, though rare, still happen, in which case we are all capable of communicating and adapting to whatever the situation may be as efficiently and professionally as possible.
How do you handle multiple bookings?
While we maintain clear communication throughout the booking process, allow us to outline below:
Diamond Lake Productions is a production studio that serves as Fab! Weddings Preferred Videography Vendor. We are obligated to fulfill every first-party Videography booking from Fab, which can (and often does) result in stacked bookings for us. Our Lead Shooter, Andy Meyer, whom you have likely communicated with, will take as many bookings as possible, but calls upon a team of dedicated shooters trained to deliver media exactly as he would have if he is called away.
Regardless of who arrives on behalf of Diamond Lake Productions on your wedding day, you are in the most qualified and prepared hands. Refer to the top of this form for who is currently assigned to your wedding, and if anything should change, we will update you.
How soon can I expect my final films to be delivered?
We define a 6-8 week turnaround time in our contract, however we often strive to deliver within 1 month.
How are my films delivered?
When your films are ready, we'll use the email address we have on file to send a link to a private client portal that includes your films in a streamable and downloadable format.
How long am I able to go back and download my films?
Film links are kept accessible for 2 years. RAW Media is guaranteed for the same 2 years, whereas final deliverable films are guaranteed for 5 (even if the link is down, you can request a re-upload).
Can I still add hours after having paid the final balance on my invoice?
Absolutely - this happens all the time. If things fall behind schedule on your timeline and you need to add time just let your shooter know and we'll send out another invoice before your films are delivered.
Please note that even if caused by a timeline delay, shooters are not expected to stay late for free.
How is Audio recorded?
We use multiple ways of capturing audio no matter what package you have selected. These include high quality mics placed on the cameras themselves, microphones placed on Grooms and Officiant's lapels, and recording devices plugged into DJ's sound board to capture any music and handheld mics passed around throughout the day.
What if someone stands in front of a camera during the Ceremony?
Our shooters use multiple cameras to capture different angles of the longer scenes of the day - primarily the Ceremony and Toasts, as well as First Dances. This is to help mitigate any unintentional blocking of cameras by guests.
While we strive for the most perfect camera placement, there are sometimes occurrences where guests move to an area they weren't anticipated to be standing and a shot is blocked. If there are notable concerns regarding this, you will be contacted while we are editing.
Can I request RAW Footage?
While we do offer RAW Footage, we do require some direct communication as to what you are looking for and why. This determines whether or not there would be a surcharge payable direct to studio for the extra time and potential resources utilized to prepare the files in the way you are looking for.
However, when most couples say they are looking for RAW Footage, they are generally referring to what we call our Feature Film, which already displays your wedding day in full-length scenes (First Looks, Ceremony, Grand Entrance, Blessing, Toasts, and Dances as applicable) in the best possible version the footage we captured could holistically be cut and sequenced to. This is typically around 30-90 minutes long depending on your package. RAW footage, on the other hand, would require your own editing to be made viewable.
